Job Description:

Sr Mask Design Engineer for SanDisk. You will be responsible for creating custom layout on cell level, block level and involved in top-level integration work of the 3-dimensional nonvolatile memory.

In this position, the individual will be responsible for creating custom layout on cell level, block level and involved in top-level integration work of the 3-dimensional nonvolatile memory. Take ownership of complex blocks and work with circuit designers on the detailed layout planning and requirements. Have proficient mask design techniques, full competency in performing layout verification, including DRC, LVS and electrical rule check. Create high quality layout solutions that meet objectives and schedule target consistently. Should have skills in floorplanning and provide innovative approach to fulfill the requirements. Have basic knowledge of all mask design-related CAD flows. Be able to interact with process engineers and/or CAD engineers on test structure development, including design rule validation. Support full chip activities including tapeout and subsequent mask releases.

This position requires at least 5 years of layout experience. Experience with Cadence Virtuoso Schematic Composer, Layout Editor and Hercules verification flow is desirable. The individual must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Knowledge of analog and pitch layout techniques is preferred. Prior memory layout experience is a plus.

General Competencies

Develops and prepares multi-dimensional layouts and detailed drawings of the semiconductor devices from schematics and related geometry provided by design engineering. Work may be completed through use of CAD or other computerized equipment. Checks dimensions, writes specifications, and verifies completed drawings, artwork or digitized plots. May check design layouts and detailed drawings.

Education / Years Experience

Requires BS/BA degree or equivalent with 5 or more years of related experience. The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people. A proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside of the team. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
